About HD-Timber

HD stands for Hake & Düwel, representing our company’s origins and the foundation upon which we continue to build today.

We respect what has grown over time and consistently build upon it. With a material that has character, with people who take responsibility, and with the conviction that quality begins in the details.

Our components often remain invisible later on. Yet they play a key role in determining whether a product is load-bearing, functions reliably, and lasts a long time.

That’s why we combine precision manufacturing with European-sourced solid wood, flexible order quantities, and reliable delivery. For customers who refuse to compromise on their products.

We believe in genuine collaboration, in the careful use of materials, and in solutions that stand the test of time.

Not as much as possible. But exactly the right amount.

Solid wood for what really matters.

Heiko Abbenseth

Entrepreneur and CEO of HD-Timber

In July 2022, I stepped into HD-Timber’s production facility for the first time: wood, the hum of machinery, and that warm, authentic scent. Under my hands, a surface that needs no explanation. I knew immediately: This is real. This has substance.

After many years in the corporate world and in small and medium-sized businesses, I wanted to make my own decisions, shape the future, and take on responsibility. Not just take the next job, but build something that will last.

At HD-Timber, I found exactly that: a company with a natural material, good people, and products that are often invisible—but crucial to whether something holds up reliably and lasts a long time.

Our HD-Timber DNA:

Five principles shape the way we work, make decisions, and interact with people and materials:

  • We believe in wood as a material with character
  • We work with integrity and artisanal precision
  • We are constantly evolving and think long-term
  • We treat people and materials with respect
  • We create products of lasting value—with confidence in the future

This is our standard for every component that leaves our production facility and for the way we collaborate with our partners—long-term, reliably, and as equals.
